Mount Gay

Mount Gay Distilleries was founded in 1703 in Barbados. The company's products are sold in more than 110 countries. The main export market is USA. For many years, a rum was favorite drink of sailors and is still associated with sailing today. The name of the company is closely related to Sir John Gay Alleyne, who ran the Mount Gilboa winery. The winemaker of noble origin showed the talent of a leader, and was known as a successful businessman and public figure. After Alleyne's death, the company was renamed in his honor. Since 1989 the main share of the Mount Gay brand has passed to well-known company Rémy Cointreau.
