Olio Dante

This brand with a history of 150 years is named Olio Dante in honor of the Italian poet Dante Alighieri. Olio Dante dates back to 1849, when Andrea Costa began selling olive oil and textiles from Sardinia to Liguria, and his son Giacomo Costa founded the Giacomo Costa fu Andrea trading company in 1910. As early as 1898, the oil was exported to North America, Argentina, and Australia. Costa soon realized the need to associate the product directly with Italy, at which point a brand called Olio Dante was formed. At the World's Fair in America in 1904, the company won the first gold medal for the best product. Advertising videos and materials on radio, print media and television make the company very popular. The owners of the company have changed since 1985. It first belonged to the Anglo-Dutch company Unilever, and in 2008 was sold to the Spanish company SOS-Cuetara. In April 2009, the company finally returns to Italy.
