E.Guigal Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2018

Pale golden yellow color, brilliant. Expressive nose with notes of white flowers and light fruits. Smoothness in the mouth, enhanced by a nice freshness. Rich, ample and elegant wine. Long finish with notes of nuts and spices. 

Varied starters, fish in salt crust, grilled, in tartare or sashimi, sushi and fresh or mature goat cheeses.

Traditional vinifications and sorting of the grapes, control of alcoholic fermentation temperatures around 18°C.

8 months aging. A quarter matured in wood (barrels and demi-muids), 50% of which are new.

Soils of rolled pebbles and rich in red clay. Average age of vines is 25 years.

Etienne Guigal founded his winery in 1946, in the old village Ampyui, which is known around the world today. Etienne's son,  Marcel Guigal, began to help his father and work at the winery at a fairly young age, eventually succeeding his older, suddenly blinded father. Marseille invested in the family business not only all his strength, but also his soul. Today, the tradition of the family winemaking is continued by Marseille son Philip Gigal, who holds the position of chief enologist in the company. Guigal owns the oldest vineyards in France, dating back over 2,400 years.
