The rich, luxurious aroma of amber cognac is expressed with notes of plum, lychee, honey and nougat. Round, multi-layered on the palate, with fruity-floral nuances and a long, pleasant aftertaste.
Recommended to drink neat, or pair with dessserts.
Cognac is aged for 10 years in Limousin oak barrels.
Cognac is produced in a traditional way. Fermentation is carried out first on the yeast and then on the lees to produce a cognac with complex, rich taste and aroma.
For the production of this cognac, grapes grown in HINE's own farm, which is located near the village of Bonney in the prestigious Grande Champagne region, are used. The area is 70 hectares.
The cognac was created by Hine House blender Eric Forge in honor of Thomas Hine.
In 1791 young Thomas Hine left Dorset (England) in search of fortune in France. He chose Cognac region, perhaps because his family, who lived on the coast, was engaged in the sale of cognac. The young man was unlucky: during the French Revolution, Thomas was arrested for espionage and imprisoned in a castle in Jarnac, but he soon freed himself and married Francoise Elisabeth, whose father had his own cognac company in Jarnac. Very soon, the father-in-law's business turned into his own career and passion. Thomas quickly became a well-known and respected expert. Over the years, he took the art of cognac making to new heights, continuing to develop the business, which in 1822 was named Thomas Hine & Co. Thomas Hine left a more than thriving business. Today, Hine is in its sixth generation and is known and respected throughout the world for the exceptional quality of its cognacs.
