Whisky Glengoyne Single Malt Cask Strength

Bottled at the strength it emerges from the cask, this delicious amber gold dram is un-chillfiltered, unfussed and untamed; the closest you’ll get to opening the cask yourself. A peppery tingle gives way to rich flavours of ripe banana, digestive biscuits and cinnamon. Matured in one third sherry casks, two thirds refill casks and a smattering of bourbon barrels. Big and bold with a gloriously thick mouthfeel and a delightful, lingering, oak-infused finish.

Glengoyne distillery is located in a wooded valley, not far from Glasgow. It was built in 1833. Several times owners and even the name were changed: for some time the distillery was called "Glen Guin". In 2003 the distillery was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers, which quickly brought Glengoyne to a leading position, starting to produce a "brand" single malt whisky.

Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd is one of the largest and most respected companies in the spirits industry, founded in 1936 by Leonard Russell, the great-grandfather of the current CEO, Ian Macleod. The founder of the company attached great importance to independence and, not giving preference to any of the whisky producers, bought only the brand that met the standards of the company and the requirements of the customers. Success strengthened his convictions, and within a few years the company gained an enviable reputation in the Scotch whisky industry.
