Colterenzio

Colterenzio, one of the leading wineries in South Tyrol, was founded in 1960 by 28 wine companies. Today this successful company has already 290 members. In 1980, in Alto Adige, the newly appointed director of the company, Luis Raifer, introduced innovations in Italian winemaking. Due to his leadership, the company became the first to calculate the price of grapes not by sugar content, but by the quality of the crop. Thus, the participants of the company no longer considered it necessary to ensure the maximum quantity of the harvest but emphasized the quality. Raifer was the first to take a new approach to wine aging. In the 1980s, he tried to ferment white grapes and red ones in barrels. Few in Italy can compete with the variety of quality wines of this company, which are of such a high standard.
