Domane Wachau Terrassen Gruner Veltliner Smaragd 2019

Wine of straw-yellow color with green highlights. Hints of ripe yellow apple, white peach, and spicy notes of pepper and subtle hints of papaya in the nose. The palate is pronounced with a salty character, juicy fruit and lively acidity that complement the long lasting and powerful mouthfeel․

Paired well with roasted brains with eggs, Mediterranean shakshuka or more exotic dishes. 

The grapes were carefully handpicked. Short maceration, gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel define the vinification process. 

According to Wachau special wine classification system, created in 1980, dry white wines (Vinea Wachau) divided into 3 categories, that differs by style, content of alcohol and quality. Smaragd - is a higest categor in this system. The name Smaragd was derived from the magnificent emerald green lizard, which became the symbol of this wine category. This wines are rich and full-bodied, with an alcohol content of 12.5%.

Domane Wachau is located in the heart of the Wachau Valley and is the largest independent producer, with more than 400 hectares of vineyards currently owning 30% of the Wachau Valley vineyards. Domane Wachau produces different style wines - from light fruity to complex, concentrated wines with great cellaring potential.
