"Licor 43" is original Spanish liqueur, expressed with herbal and citrus shades. In the production 43 different ingredients are used (hence the number 43 in the name of the liqueur). According to legend, the city of New Carthage, located on the Mediterranean coast, was a military base. The locals were very fond of Mirablis liqueur. In 209 BC. the Romans captured New Carthage and banned the production and consumption of this drink, and all its stocks were destroyed. After some time, Roman nobility tried this liqueur and liked it. The production of the drink resumed, it began to be sold throughout the Roman Empire. For many centuries, the recipe for liqueur has remained unchanged. In 1924 Diego Zamora company launched the industrial production of "Licor 43".

The history of Zamora Company is closely tied to Licor 43. In 1946, siblings Diego, Angel and Josefina Zamora, along with Josefina’s husband Emilio Restoy, began to produce and market this “miracle liqueur”, using a formula from the Roman period. Diego Zamora was the first chairman of the company. These early years, with Diego Zamora in charge, the company showed daring side with creative marketing campaigns that helped quickly build a solid image for Licor 43, leading to significant growth and consolidating its renowned status in Spain.
