Abrau-Durso

The history of Abrau Durso sparkling wines began in 1870, when, by order of Emperor Alexander II, a winery was founded in a unique terroir on the picturesque slopes of Lake Abrau and the Durso River with the participation of French specialists. At the beginning of the 20th century, during the tsarist era, the world-famous Victor Dravigny became the leading winemaker of the company, under which the sparkling Abrau Durso reached the pinnacle of fame and became the inseparable drink of the imperial table. In Soviet times, despite the global production volume, the winery managed to maintain excellent quality. The recent history and revival of the company began in 2006 when it became private property. Based on the rich experience and knowledge of generations, introducing the latest technologies Abrau Durso resumed the production of high-quality sparkling wines. Today the company is the absolute leader in sales of sparkling wine in Russia. The legendary wine house has not only preserved its rich heritage but has also become an extremely attractive destination for wine lovers and gastro tourism enthusiasts.
