With its attractive dark cherry colour, with extremely expressive bouquet combining red fruits and spice with hints of forest floor. Round and supple on the palate, its firm body is underpinned by silky tannins. The wine is long and aromatic on the finish, with spicy notes.
Ideal with charcuterie, roast poultry or poultry based casseroles and stews (guinea fowl and duck), meat casseroles and roast joints (shoulder of lamb, fillet of beef and braised knuckle of veal), game.
Traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks.
The wine is matured for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
Founded in 1840, Dourthe is today one of the largest wineries in Bordeaux. Douthe owns vineyards and chateaus on all the main terroirs of Bordeaux: Hauts-Medoc, Saint-Estephe, Pessac-le-Gnan, Graves, etc.
