Silk & Spice

The wine has a dark cherry color with ruby reflections. The rich bouquet is full of ripe plum, blackberry and cherri notes with hints of vanilla, mocha, black and pink pepper. Rich, delicate and harmonious in the palate with wine reveals tones of ripe red fruits, berries and sweet spices flavours. Velvety tannins and coffe finish makes wine more interesting. 

The wine goes well with beef and lamb dishes, pork ribs, lasagna and matured cheeses.

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

Wine ages in oak barrels for 4-7 months. 

The name and label of the wine reminds about the Age of Exploration - the most important time in the history of Portugal. "Silk & Spice" wine is a reference to the history of the Silk Road, and the subtle nuances of spices in the taste and bouquet of the wine remind that the Silk Road was previously an important trade route for the transportation of not only silk, but also spices.

The Portuguese wine company Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by the Guedes family. At the moment, the company annually produces and exports more than 30 million liters of wine, and the export geography covers more than 120 countries of the world. The company has 25 wineries and 19 wineries, with a total vineyard area of 1600 hectares.
