Wine with dark red color, sustained and brilliant. Nose of black berries marked by notes of spices. Ample, full and racy wine. Rounded tannins, very coated but present in the mouth. This wine is distinguished by its breadth, warmth and aromatic intensity. Elegance and finesse due to a good balance between tannins and fruits.
Traditional harvest, maceration and vinification in stainless steel tanks.
This wine is aged for 18 months in oak casks.
This wine is a classic that has established itself by its high-end character whatever the vintage. Connoisseurs will appreciate the assertive expression of the Syrah grape variety combined with Grenache.
Grapes come from different vineyards of South Rhօne with a wide variety of soils made up of sediment, granite limestone, alluvium and pebbles. Average age of vines is 35 years.
Etienne Guigal founded his winery in 1946, in the old village Ampyui, which is known around the world today. Etienne's son, Marcel Guigal, began to help his father and work at the winery at a fairly young age, eventually succeeding his older, suddenly blinded father. Marseille invested in the family business not only all his strength, but also his soul. Today, the tradition of the family winemaking is continued by Marseille son Philip Gigal, who holds the position of chief enologist in the company. Guigal owns the oldest vineyards in France, dating back over 2,400 years.
