Wine is a bright straw with yellowish hues. In fresh aroma the fruity notes are combined with hints of wild flowers and mint. The palate is smooth, harmonious with pleasant fruity nuances.

Pairs well with seafood and vegetable dishes.

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks, at temperature of 14-16°C.

Aging in tanks for 2 months and then at least 3 months in bottle before release.

Grillo is an ancient autochthonous Sicilian grape variety, but it is also a cute little animal (the cricket) that brings good luck. The voice of spring, with its scents and colors, is depicted on the label. It shows Gabriella (founder of Donnafugata, with her husband Giacomo) as a girl in flight, running barefoot through the flowers and fresh grass, following the singing of crickets that sounds sweet to her ears, like a thousand ''SurSur…''.

From Italian language, the name of Donnafugata is translated as " fleeing woman". There is a legend about the escape of Queen Maria Carolina, who fled from Naples and found her refuge in a town in the very center of Santa Margherita Belice valley: the same palace under the starry sky. A woman's hair swaying in the wind can also be seen on product labels.Donnafugata was established in Sicily by a family that, thanks to its passion, has been able to innovate the style and perception of Sicilian wine throughout the world. Giacomo Rallo, the fourth generation of a family with over 170 years of experience in quality wine, founded Donnafugata in 1983 together with his wife Gabriella, a pioneer of viticulture in Sicily. Today, their children José and Antonio lead the company and a team of people focused on excellence.
