The Australian wine company Grant Burge was founded by Grant Burge and his wife Helen in 1988, 80 km north of Adelaide, in the heart of the Barossa Valley, famous for its wine-making potential. The wines of this region are well known all over the world due to the efforts of winemakers and consistent quality. Interestingly, this winemaking company actually has a centuries-old history, dating back to 1855, when Grant's great-grandfather John Burge left England, settled in South Australia with his family, and began making wine. The tradition of John Burge was continued by his son Mesha, uniting farmers around him. Shortly after, one of the company's best vineyards was named after him. Years later, in 1916, Mesha's eldest son founded the Wilsford Winery, consolidating family winemaking traditions. The love for viticulture and winemaking was inherited from generation to generation and reached the 21st century. 400 hectares of land are owned by the company, and 18 hectares are occupied by vineyards. Each of them is distinguished not only by its unique terroir but also by the variety of grape age.
