Hot Irishman was founded in 1999 by Bernard J. and Rosemary Walsh, who now owns 80% of the shares. The idea of starting a company came to them while traveling in France. They lived in a ski resort and had many guests daily in their chalet. After dinner, guests were treated to an Irish coffee cocktail consisting of hot coffee, Irish whiskey and sugar. Making 20-30 servings of the drink was fun, but at the same time it was difficult for the housewife. The Walshes decided to find a solution without the extra work and waste of time to get a great drink. Here's how Hot Irishman Limited was created. Initially, the company intended to release only Irish Cream, and in 2001 the Irishman Irish Cream was released. Today, the brand is known in more than 36 countries on 4 continents. Watford has a state-of-the-art whiskey and other beverage factory. The company is headquartered in an old family mansion on the outskirts of Carlow, in the heart of the Irish Barley Fields.
