Amarone della Valpolicella

It pairs beautifully with hearty meat dishes, especially traditional Veronese cuisine. It also pairs particularly well with the extraordinary cheeses from the Lessinia mountains near Verona. Serve at 16-18°C in large red wine glasses.

It has a deep ruby ​​red color, while the bouquet expresses aromas of cherry and wild marasca cherry with a pleasant, subtle note of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it has a good, well-integrated tannic structure and a lingering finish. Ethereal and balanced, its freshness sets it apart from traditional Amarone standards. It will acquire further complexity with bottle aging.

Grapes are harvested by hand in crates at the beginning of September. Grape selection through optical sorting, followed by destemming and gentle crushing; the grapes are then dried in well-ventilated drying lofts (fruttaio) for approximately 3 months, and fermentation in stainless steel and concrete vats.

Villa Della Torre is a winery located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica zone (in Fumane), owned by the Allegrini family since 2008. It is built around a magnificent Renaissance-era villa (16th century), designed by renowned architects Giulio Romano and Michele Sanmicheli in the style of an ancient Roman “domus”. The villa has been restored and transformed into a Wine & Art Relais — a luxury boutique hotel (9 rooms and suites), a wine tasting centre, and a venue for events. Surrounded by vineyards, where vines (primarily Corvinone) were replanted in 2014, it produces fresh and terroir-driven wines such as Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Amarone, and others.
