E. Guigal Gigondas Rouge 2017

The wine has beautiful purple color. Its intense nose is dominated by stone fruits, liquorice and scents of undergrowth. The wine has generous, powerful and full-bodied taste with a long and elegant finish.

This wine goes perfectly with red meats and cheeses.

Traditional harvest and vinification with long maceration.

This wine is aged for two years in oak barrels, half of which are new.

Ancient alluvia, red clay and gravel on the slopes. Average age of vines is 40 years.

Etienne Guigal founded his winery in 1946, in the old village Ampyui, which is known around the world today. Etienne's son,  Marcel Guigal, began to help his father and work at the winery at a fairly young age, eventually succeeding his older, suddenly blinded father. Marseille invested in the family business not only all his strength, but also his soul. Today, the tradition of the family winemaking is continued by Marseille son Philip Gigal, who holds the position of chief enologist in the company. Guigal owns the oldest vineyards in France, dating back over 2,400 years.
