Rum Dictador XO Insolent

Rum is deep mahogany brown with golden hues. In rich aroma the notes of honey, vanilla, caramel, iris, oak and parfait are felt. The taste is smooth and soft with hints of caramel and Colombian coffee. The pleasant aftertaste is expressed with the nuances of oak and sweet spices.

Rum is recommended to drink neat with ice or with a little water.

Rum pairs well with various appetizers, fresh salads and vanilla desserts.

Spirits are aged in the finest American Oak, Sherry and Port casks.

Dictador XO Insolent is a premium Colombian rum made from cane sugar, part of which is fermented in copper alambicas and the other part in conical steel vats.

The recipe for the rum’s production is kept in the strictest confidence and is passed down from generation to generation. Numerous awards and medals received at international competitions proves the high quality of rum.

At the end of the 18th century, Severo Arango arrived in Granada (present-day Colombia). His main goal for Spain was to improve tax collection in the American-Spanish colonies. Arango's power became so great that he was called DICTADOR. After some time of discovering the rum, Arango immediately falls in love with the drink.  Eventually, Parra managed to become one of the best producers of Colombian rum in the region, dedicating his life to his ancestral heritage. The rum has been produced for 100 years by the company Destileria Colombiana in Cartagena. The recipe for the production of rum is kept strictly secret and passed down from generation to generation.
