Whisky Octomore 15.3

High strength yet exceptionally soft in texture, Octomore 15.3 is unmistakably rounded and viscous. Butterscotch and creamy vanilla enhance its smooth character, punctuated with dried fruit and sweet orange zest. Toasted oak and locally grown barley sugar are underpinned with waves of dry smoke.

Octomore 15.3 is the second most heavily peated release to date. Using 100% Islay barley, matured in bourbon casks and Spanish Oloroso hogsheads. Formidable smoke is countered by ripe fruit from its patient distillation.

This experimental set of limited bottlings have each matured for 5 years and continue to push the boundaries of whisky making; exploring barley provenance, cask type, and varying peat levels in pursuit of remarkable unexpected flavour.

Bruichladdich was founded in 1881 on Islay. During its centuries-old history, the company has experienced a series of ups and downs, but in 2001, after Jim McEwan and several investors bought the company, Bruichladdich regained its former strength.
