Domane Wachau, Zweigelt Rose Federspiel 2020

This wine is open and playful on the nose, delicate aromas of currants, strawberries, hints of cloves and delicate citrus; medium-bodied, the palate is fruity yet balanced with a refreshing acidity․ 

The wine goes well with light or spicy Mediterranean dishes such as a Sahkshuka, a Greek salad with sheep's cheese or a fish platter. It also ideally accompanies Austrian cuisine such as Roast chicken with french fries, sauteed porcini or a fried trout with vegetables

Work in the vineyard takes place based on sustainable and, increasingly, organic principles, without the use of insecticides or herbicides, and grapes are hand-picked. Fermented in stainless steel tanks. 

There is a special wine classification system in Wachau, created in 1980. Dry white wines (Vinea Wachau) divided into 3 categories, that differs by style, content of alcohol and quality. Smaragd - is a higest categor in this system. Federspiel means " falconry". It is the falcon that became the symbol of this category and is depicted on the labels. Federspiel wines of the middle category with an alcohol of 11.5% are elegant, like a hunting falcon.

Domane Wachau is located in the heart of the Wachau Valley and is the largest independent producer, with more than 400 hectares of vineyards currently owning 30% of the Wachau Valley vineyards. Domane Wachau produces different style wines - from light fruity to complex, concentrated wines with great cellaring potential.
