Fontanafredda Barolo Riserva 2010

The aroma of this deep ruby wine reveals hints of dried cherries, smoke, resin and crushed granite. Luxurious, and full on the palate, with notes of plum, coffee, oak, minerals and spices, dense tannins and persistent aftertaste.

The wine ideally pairs with red meat and game dishes, mushrooms and mature cheeses, great as a digestif.

The wine is made from late harvest grapes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 30-31°C.

The wine is aged for 1 years in French Allier oak barriques and two years in oak barrels․

The brand with its beautiful name Fontanafredda, which means "Cold Spring", has an unusual romantic origin history. This is a love story between Duchess of Italy Rosa Mirafiori and the king Vittorio Emanuele II. Today, the company produces a wide range of the best Piedmont wines, which are included in the wine lists of the best restaurants and regularly receive high reviews from wine critics. Internationally recognized Robert Parker calls Fontanafreda "one of the greatest names of Piedmont winemaking."
