Wine has an intense ruby color. The aroma of the wine is intense, it reveals a bouquet of shades of heather, red fruits, flowers and balsamic notes of conifers. The taste of the wine is smooth, balanced, and elegant, it is dominated by tones of red fruits. The finish is long and graceful.
The wine will make a perfect pair of dishes from poultry and game, red and white meat, smoked pork and cheeses.
Fermentation tаkes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C.
After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 8 months: 75% of the wine was matured in steel tanks, and 25% in reused French oak barrels. Final blend is aged for 4 months before bottling.
Of all the birds known in the Douro region, the Oriole (Portuguese for "papa-figos") is one of the rarest and most special. The unique character of this bird is the inspiration for the Papa-Figos wine. Elegant and bright at the same time, classic yet modern, the wine reflects the core values of the Casa Ferreirinha winery.
The Portuguese wine company Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by the Guedes family. At the moment, the company annually produces and exports more than 30 million liters of wine, and the export geography covers more than 120 countries of the world. The company has 25 wineries and 19 wineries, with a total vineyard area of 1600 hectares.
