Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni 2015

Beautiful purple-red color with violet hues. A bright bouquet reveals tones of red fruits, strawberries, currants, notes of anise, cinnamon, and cocoa. Dense, rounded on the palate, with ripe tannins well integrated into the structure of the wine, and a long refreshing aftertaste.

Pairs well with rabbit, pork, fried or stewed meat and mature flavored cheeses.

Fermentation is carried out at a temperature of 28°С, in stainless steel tanks.

For 12 months aging in oak barrels.

The estate is 513 hectares, and vineyards occupy only one-fifth of it (130 hectares). Soils are mixed, clay-stony.

Tenuta di Castiglioni is located in the heart of Chianti, southwest of Florence. The family archives contain documents stating that Castillone Valis Pesae has belonged to the Marquises of Frescobald since 1092. This estate was one of the first to give birth to the Marquis's family winemaking history, which dates back more than 700 years.

The Frescobaldi family is one of the oldest and most prestigious winemaking nobles in Italy. The Frescobaldi is originally come from Florence and are currently based in Italy’s №1 winemaking region: Tuscany. Here they own 7 estates, which allows to fully explore all the Tuscany terroirs.
