E.Guigal Condrieu 2018

Bright and limpid golden yellow colored wine has very intense nose of flowers, apricot, white peaches, and citrus fruite. It has lot of fat, richness and smoothness for a dry wine. There is a harmony between a beautiful freshness and a fruit that bathes in a fleshy roundness. 

As a starter with foie gras or a scramble of truffles, also with delicate fish.

Manual harvest and sorting of the grapes, then alcoholic fermentation at low temperatures in new pieces (1/3) and in stainless steel vats (2/3). 100% malolactic fermentation.

This wine is aged for 1/3 in new oak barrels and for 2/3 in stainless steel vats for 8 months.

Steep terraced hillsides, granite arenas cultivated in the traditional way. Average age of vines is 30 years.

Etienne Guigal founded his winery in 1946, in the old village Ampyui, which is known around the world today. Etienne's son,  Marcel Guigal, began to help his father and work at the winery at a fairly young age, eventually succeeding his older, suddenly blinded father. Marseille invested in the family business not only all his strength, but also his soul. Today, the tradition of the family winemaking is continued by Marseille son Philip Gigal, who holds the position of chief enologist in the company. Guigal owns the oldest vineyards in France, dating back over 2,400 years.
